We are thrilled to be participating in University of Southern Queensland School of Creative Arts' McGregor Summer Arts Retreat with our furniture restoration and upholstery workshop. This week-long workshop runs 9-15 January 2022 at the USQ campus in Toowomba.
In this workshop, run by Helena and Lasse, you will be guided through the process of restoring and re-upholstering your own furniture piece. This hands-on practice-based class covers knowledge and skills specific to your project. You will learn important upholstery and restoration processes including the use of hand tools, traditional and modern furniture construction, timber restoration and finishes; as well as fabric selection, pattern making, cutting and sewing. This knowledge and practise of skills will result in a beautifully restored furniture piece to take home!
Enrolments are through USQ School of Creative Arts. Places are limited, so be quick! If you would like to discuss the details of our Deka Design Furniture Upholstery and Restoration workshop, please contact Helena on 0419 021 450 or info(at)dekadesign.com.au.
The McGregor Summer Arts School is the longest running arts workshops in Australia. In 2022, this 54th arts retreat includes workshops on watercolours, printmaking, ceramics, jewellery making and our furniture restoration. Each workshop is hosted by independent highly qualified artists and craftspeople dedicated to their artform. These workshops are a great way to skill up on your craftsmanship or to be introduced to a new artform!
