School of Furniture
The Deka Design School of Furniture runs courses for students who would like to work on furniture restoration, upholstery, design or making projects or gain in-depth knowledge on a particular topic. The courses are run by designer and master-craftsman Lasse Kinnunen with the assistance of sewing and fabrics expert Helena Kinnunen. Courses are designed for small groups covering topics such as furniture design, furniture making, sewing, restoration and upholstery.
Courses are scheduled to run on weekends or during the week. If we don't have a course that suits you, let us know your interests and we can either tailor one-on-one tuition for you, or schedule a new course. If you just wish to use our workshop facilities to make or restore a small furniture piece, contact us about our Workspace Hire.
During 2017 the courses will run in April and then again in spring, from September onwards.
Conditions apply to all courses. A booking must be made. Each student must undergo a workshop safety induction for their first course. This is included in the price. Students must wear appropriate clothing including steel cap or other sturdy covered shoes. Other personal protection equipment will be supplied. Please enquire for full terms and conditions.
For more information or if you would like to book a course or register your interest for a course please contact Helena at firstname.lastname@example.org or 07 3396 5850.
