Summer in Fiskars

Fiskars Village, home to so many amazing creative people, knows how to get the most out of summer! It is again hosting a summer season of exciting art, design and culture happenings. Here's a few coming up:

About Clay - Pearls of European Ceramic Art in Fiskars on show from 13th May at the Copper Smithy. This exhibition brings together over 40 ceramic artists from around Europe, selected for their unique approaches to material and technique. Including works in all scales and in abstract and figurative forms, this showcases the extraordinary skills and insights of emerging and established artisans. Curated by Erna Aaltonen the exhibition also includes a selection of distinguished artisans from Fiskars such as Riitta Talonpoika, Kim Simonsson, Karin Widnäs and Anneli Sainio.
Dates: 13 May - 2 September 2018, open daily 11am - 6pm

Fiskars Summer House exhibition opening on 15th June shows collaborations between designers and design companies to present their imaginings of the summer homes of admired Finnish artists such as Tove Jansson, Rut Bryk and Vuokko Nurmesniemi. There will be products by local Fiskars artisans, including Lasse Kinnunen, featured and for sale.

125% Summer Exhibition shows local craftspeople, designers and artists presenting their work outdoors and in publicly accessible spaces around Fiskars. Visitors are invited to experience these works outside to confines of galleries and shops, in unexpected places or in their natural surrounds. Details coming soon of Deka Studio's work!
